NEWS UPDATE – January 6, 2012: Suicide Bomber Strikes Syrian Capital

Summary:

On Friday, a suicide bomber attacked a bus at a traffic light in the al-Midan quarter of Damascus.  The blast killed 26 and injured at least 63.  The area is densely populated and traffic was heavy at the time of the blast.  There were also mass anti-government protests occurring today in the area.
