Stone Security Engineering presents a unique blast short-course that has been developed for engineers and practitioners interested in detailed information related to blast resistant design and analysis. (8 CEUs)
This class is designed to provide engineering and design professionals both big-picture and detailed knowledge.
Big-picture topics will include blast effects, blast resistant design guidelines and criteria, blast resistant products, the process of implementing blast resistant design, and how blast resistant design impacts new and retrofit design projects.
Detailed topics include analytic tools and approaches for different materials and structural systems, blast load calculation for both HE and accidental explosions, door and window testing and analysis, risk based vs consequence design, and innovative retrofit materials. Design examples will be provided throughout the course.
